What Kitchen Floor Heating System to Choose?

Kitchen spaces are the ideal places for heating using underfloor heating systems. At Heavenly Heat, we offer three key options for a heated floor in your kitchen to choose from.

Easy Mat

We are very proud of this product. It is created using high-quality heating cables that are woven to form flexible strips. The system has three heat requirement strengths: 12, 15, and 20 Watts per square foot. If you prefer to use underfloor heating as the primary source of heat in the heated floor in your kitchen, we recommend the 20 Watts per square foot option. The 12 and 15 Watts per square foot options are ideal for secondary heating.

The EasyMat is 1/8 inches thick which means it has a very small effect on the floor levels. It is flexible and can be used in cramped floor layouts and around fixtures. For independent temperature regulation in different heating zones, we will install a thermostat for you.

Easy Wire

EasyWire is available in varying heat requirement strengths which range from 10 to 20 Watts per square foot. The 20 Watts per square foot is perfect when you want to use underfloor heating as the primary source of heat.

Just like the EasyMat, the EasyWire has minimal effect on the floor levels. The heating element is 1/8 inches thick. It is also flexible which makes it easy to install in cramped floor layouts and around fixtures. The system also uses the normal current already in your house so you don’t need to upgrade your electrical system.

Self-Regulating Cable

The self-regulating cable is a cUL listed self-regulating parallel heating cable. It can be used in both industrial and residential applications. The unique feature of the self-regulating cable is that it increases or decreases the heat output depending on the ambient temperature. This means it cannot overheat or burn out even when it has been overlapped.

Self-regulating cables are chosen because they are easy to install, energy-efficient, and pose no risk of burnout or overheating.

Our underfloor heating systems are engineered for maximum energy efficiency and durability. If you need help choosing the best option for a heated floor in your kitchen we encourage you to get in touch with us. Our expert team will walk you through your options and give you the best recommendation based on your budget and preferences.

Best Kitchen Floor Finishes

The best thing about underfloor heating is that it can be installed with really all flooring types. However, it is important to remember that some floor finishes have temperature limit restrictions. This can impact the heat output of the underfloor system.

  • Vinyl, wood, carpet, and laminate flooring are limited to 81 degrees F (27 degrees C).
  • Stone and tiles, on the other hand, can run at much higher temperatures of up to 86 degrees F. This leads to more heat output and rapid heating.

The thickness of the floors will further affect the efficacy of underfloor heating systems in the kitchen. When the flooring is too thick, it will hinder the transfer of heat thus leading to inefficiency. The flooring material should be dense and thin for the underfloor heating system to work efficiently.

Cost of Heated Floor for Your Kitchen

We offer some of the most competitive prices on underfloor heating systems. Our systems can be used either as primary or secondary sources of heat. The Advantages of Heated Floors in the Kitchen

Design Freedom for Your Kitchen
When remodeling your kitchen, there is no better heating option than underfloor heating. The reason for this is underfloor heating will not increase the floor height thanks to the fact that the heating element is 1/8 inches thick. Secondly, heated floors in your kitchen will help you enjoy warm floors for many years to come.

Underfloor heating systems offer design freedom because they free up space. There is no need to install bulky radiators. The system does not take up any of your wall space. This enables you to create the kitchen of your dreams without worrying about room for kitchen floor heating systems.

Comfort and Energy Efficiency

In modern homes, the kitchen is designed to be part of the broader living space. It is designed as an extended living space where family and friends can be accommodated. Owners of old homes often alter their properties and enlarge the spaces so as to match their contemporary lifestyles as well as add value to their property for the purposes of resale.

Among homeowners who want to increase comfort and improve energy-efficiency, underfloor heating is a very popular choice. The system not only keeps the floors warm but also spreads heat throughout the living space. This is made possible through radiant heat transfer. When used as the primary source of heat, radiant heat is gently transferred to the entire room and the temperature regulated with the help of a thermostat.

Considering how limited the space in the kitchen is, a heated floor in your kitchen makes a perfect choice. They are also ideal for persons who suffer from allergies and asthma because they don’t rely on air circulation to work. If you need help picking the best underfloor heating system, we encourage you to get in touch with us. We are more than happy to help you find the system that works best for you and help with the installation.

What Types of Floor Are Considered To Be the Best For Heated Floor in the Kitchen?

In order to provide the best results for a heated floor in your kitchen, it is better to do a little research beforehand. For example, some types of floors can quickly and efficiently generate heat transfers to the floor surface, whereas other types do not heat up quickly and thus do not run efficiently. Check out which materials are the best for the kitchen floor heating and choose the heating system accordingly.

Laminate Kitchen Floor

Even though most laminate floors are safe for kitchen floor heating, make sure to double-check with the manufacturer before installing heated floors in your kitchen. To ensure the floor has good thermal conductivity, the floor’s material needs to be as dense as possible and thus can transfer heat better.

What-Types-of-Floor-Are-Considered-To-Be-the-Best-For-Heated-Floor-in-the-Kit

Wood Kitchen Floor

Most of the wooden types of flooring respond well when it comes to changes in the floor temperature. Yet be careful choosing floors with softer and less dense wood, so the thickness of floorboards won’t block the heat. Since wood is a natural material, it can be affected by the humidity of the environment and thus change the floor’s appearance. Choose the floor with the correct moisture content and heating cycle to ensure the heated floor in your kitchen will work best.

Tile, Marble or Stone Kitchen Floor

When it comes to the heated floor in the kitchen, tile and stones are considered to be the best option. These two types of flooring have high thermal conductivity and, as a result, allow heat transfers quickly to the floor surface and retain heat well. On top of that, tile and stone will keep consistent heat throughout your kitchen if it loses heat often.

What Our Clients Say

As a DIY, I really appreciated the snow melting cable from Heavenly Heat because it is so heavily jacketed I had no trouble with damage, testing the cable before and after proved that it withstood whatever it had to during installation. I love that it has a built-in return connection; meaning the cable doesn’t have to make the “run” back to the relay panel – this made the install so much easier.

Amazing product! We installed easy mat in a family room. The family room was part of an addition that was on a slab so the room was extremely cold especially in the winter. We used the mat under pad and carpet and it heats up in minutes. We are thrilled with how this product performs.

Ordered floor heating cable. Works well. A great solution for an odd shaped space and the price is great. We installed it in a bathroom floor that is above and unheated garage. Just the right solution.

It was a pleasure dealing with Heavenly Heat during home renovation project. Customer support was excellent, advising on how-to (I hired electrician at the end to install the system at the end, but still they were very helpful). Over all very positive experience.

Awesome floor heat system. I have installed Heavenly Heat as well as a couple other brands and this one for the price cannot be beat. It also comes with extras that the more expensive systems do not come with such as the alarm to let you know if you have damaged the cable during installation. The thermostat takes a bit of time to learn and is not as easy, but once you figure out how to program it, its no problem. Will definitely buy again. The floor is already nice and warm.

Good quality and much cheaper than many heating cables out there. No problem at all. I didn’t use the installation strips but bought uncoupling membrane. It makes it much easier to install since you can remove the cable and move them closer. Keep in mind you cannot cut your cable. There is some trial and error until the coverage is perfect with your cable length. Thermostat works well too and is programmable with many options.
