Why Bathroom Underfloor Heating?

Traditionally, the bathroom was built to be functional. Times have, however, changed and the bathroom is today one of the best places in the house to unwind and relax.

The bathroom is a personal sanctuary that sets the tone of the beginning and end of your busy day. Whether you want to take a quick shower and leave for work or want to spend a little more time pampering yourself, underfloor heating will add the luxury you desire by taking away the chill from your bathroom floors especially on a cold morning.

If you plan on selling your house later, installing underfloor heating will significantly boost its value. Heated floors are highly sought after by aspiring homeowners and installing them in your bathroom will significantly add value to your property.

Cost and Installation of Bathroom Underfloor Heating

The first thing that you have to do before installing underfloor heating is to make sure the subfloor is both rigid and stable. Insulation is recommended to keep heat from escaping downwards. We can help install the right insulation with minor effects on the floor level.

Installation

It is faster to install underfloor heating than it is to install conventional heating systems like radiators. Apart from hiring a qualified electrician, you will not need to bring onboard numerous tradespeople like plumbers to get the work done. The heating system can be installed easily before the floor finish is laid.

Cost

It is cheaper to install underfloor heating systems. The floor heaters are more energy-efficient than traditional forms of heating and run at lower temperatures. Our smart thermostat will help save more on heating bills. Contact us now to get a quote.

Waterproofing a Bathroom

Considering the bathroom has high moisture exposure, we always take the time to waterproof the corners using waterproofing tape. You never have to worry about the underfloor heating system being compromised by excess moisture.

Heating Controls and Accessories

Underfloor heating systems are controlled by a thermostat installed in individual rooms. This leads to low running costs. Our thermostats are designed to not just measure and maintain floor temperatures but also to provide ideal floor temperature.

Bathroom Accessories

Heavenly Heat has a wide range of accessories designed to increase convenience and comfort. Our bathroom accessories offer high practicality and luxury to your bathroom. Give us a call now to find out more about our bathroom accessories.

What Underfloor Heating System Should You Use?

As you may already know, underfloor heating is very popular in bathrooms and is ideal for both new buildings and renovations. The system can be installed in wet rooms, bathrooms as well as showers to offer more comfort. The option is quite popular in bathroom refurbishments. When you come to Heavenly Heat, we will offer you three great options to choose from for your underfloor heating systems.

Easy Mat

This is an innovative solution made using high-quality heating cables that have been woven into strips. The system has three heat requirement strengths: 12, 15, and 20 Watts per square foot. We recommend the 20 Watts per square foot for when you want to use underfloor heating as the primary source of heat in your bathroom. If you simply want to heat the floor, we recommend either the 12 or 15 Watts per square foot option.

EasyMat offers many advantages. The first is the fact that it is 1/8 inches thick. Once it is installed it will not raise the level of your floors. Secondly, it is flexible and thus can be installed in cramped floor layouts and around existing fixtures. A thermostat can be installed to regulate temperatures and save you money.

Floor heating systems under the carpet

Easy Wire

This is our second underfloor heating system. The main difference with this system is that it has varying heat requirement strengths which range from 10 to 20 Watts per square foot. Just like with EasyMat, it can be used as the primary source of heat (20 Watts per square foot) or as a secondary source of heat to add comfort to your bathroom floors.

EasyWire is easy to install thanks to the fact that it uses the ordinary current already being used in your home. You don’t need to install a new electrical system. Secondly, it is 1/8-inches-thick which means it doesn’t affect your floor levels. The system is also flexible and can be installed around existing fixtures and in cramped floor layouts. A thermostat can be installed to regulate temperatures in various heating zones.

Self-Regulating Cable

If you need a more advanced system, the self-regulating cable will be your safest bet. This is a cUL listed parallel heating cable designed for industrial and residential applications. The cable regulates heat output based on the surrounding temperatures. It can increase or decrease its heat output to regulate temperatures. This unique feature keeps the cable from ever overheating or burning out even when overlapped.

Floor heating under hardwood and laminate floor

Your choice of an underfloor heating system will depend on your budget and what you want to accomplish. We are always happy to advise you accordingly on the best system to use and also help with the installation. Give us a call now to find out more.

Floor Covering

In bathrooms, tiles are the most common flooring materials. It is important to note that not all tiles are ideal for use with underfloor heating. Tiles are also prone to small cracks and gaps as a result of seasonal changes in the subfloor. The subfloor contracts when it is cold and expands in summer. At Heavenly Heat, we offer underfloor heating systems with varying floor surfaces and their qualities not only result in efficient floor heating but also protect from issues like subfloor movements.

If your planned floor covering is not tile, we have several underfloor heating solutions that will suit your desired type of floor whether you have wooden, stone, laminate, or carpet.

What Our Clients Say

As a DIY, I really appreciated the snow melting cable from Heavenly Heat because it is so heavily jacketed I had no trouble with damage, testing the cable before and after proved that it withstood whatever it had to during installation. I love that it has a built-in return connection; meaning the cable doesn’t have to make the “run” back to the relay panel – this made the install so much easier.

Amazing product! We installed easy mat in a family room. The family room was part of an addition that was on a slab so the room was extremely cold especially in the winter. We used the mat under pad and carpet and it heats up in minutes. We are thrilled with how this product performs.

Ordered floor heating cable. Works well. A great solution for an odd shaped space and the price is great. We installed it in a bathroom floor that is above and unheated garage. Just the right solution.

It was a pleasure dealing with Heavenly Heat during home renovation project. Customer support was excellent, advising on how-to (I hired electrician at the end to install the system at the end, but still they were very helpful). Over all very positive experience.

Awesome floor heat system. I have installed Heavenly Heat as well as a couple other brands and this one for the price cannot be beat. It also comes with extras that the more expensive systems do not come with such as the alarm to let you know if you have damaged the cable during installation. The thermostat takes a bit of time to learn and is not as easy, but once you figure out how to program it, its no problem. Will definitely buy again. The floor is already nice and warm.

Good quality and much cheaper than many heating cables out there. No problem at all. I didn’t use the installation strips but bought uncoupling membrane. It makes it much easier to install since you can remove the cable and move them closer. Keep in mind you cannot cut your cable. There is some trial and error until the coverage is perfect with your cable length. Thermostat works well too and is programmable with many options.
